You know you’re supposed to exercise frequently, but how’s a girl supposed to get her body moving when she’s stuck inside? Well, she just finds ways to exercise indoors, of course! Here are five of my favorite ways to get exercise inside your house. For safety, make sure to only do fitness activities in large areas that are free of breakable objects, sharp corners, and tripping hazards.
Go For a Walk Crank up the music and start walking around your house! If your house has a circular floor plan, then walk laps around it. If not, just keep a brisk pace following the walls. Make sure to switch directions occasionally, so you don’t get dizzy! Stretch it Out Pick some stretches and try them out! Stretching is the perfect break while doing your homework or when you feel anxious, frustrated, or tense. Make sure not to overstretch and hurt your body! You can find lots of stretching ideas on the internet. Learn From the Pros Need some more ideas? Pop in an exercise DVD or watch some tutorials on YouTube and follow along with the experts. Jump & Spin Make up a series of jumping jacks, hula hooping, and jump roping (just stay away from mom’s priceless vase!). Alternate all three exercises for a heart-pumping workout. Have A Snowball Fight This idea is just plain fun! Have an indoor snowball fight with your parents or siblings by using foam balls, crumpled paper, or plush snowballs. You’ll get in a lot of running around and movement and enjoy it! What would you add to this list? Love, A
