Room-sharing tips

Picture
Do you share a room with your siblings? Do you have to get their permission before redecorating your room? Well, here are a few ideas that you can try to get the room you want and keep your siblings happy too.

Supplies you need:
* A calm head
* A gentle presence

1. Vote
So, let’s say that you have a way that you want to decorate, but your sister has a way that she wants to decorate and you can’t agree. Grab the other siblings that live in your room, and have them vote. Be sure to include a “no change” option, just Incase they like your room the way it is. Note: This only works if you share a room with 3 or more siblings. If you don’t, rope in mom and dad to get their opinion.

2. Meet in the middle
Try to compromise with your siblings. Do you want to paint your room blue, but your sibling wants the room to be purple? Try settling in the middle by agreeing to paint the walls purple, but also getting some blue decor for the walls.

3. Talk it out
Why do you want to change what you do? Why doesn’t your siblings want that too? Talk (don’t yell) with them to understand why. You might end up concluding your talk by coming up with a totally new bedroom plan that everyone loves.

I hope that you found these tips helpful. You might also like A’s post, titled “How to keep siblings from getting into your things”. It’s very helpful!
