“In honor preferring one another.” “Love others above yourself.” “Treat others how you want to be treated.” God is the God of love. He shows us an abundance of love, and asks us to love others in return. This concept of revolutionary love, serving others before yourself, seems so easy, until we try to put it into practice. When I think back over my week, I notice a lot of times when I was concerned with my needs, my wants, and my to-do lists over whatever my family and friends needed. Can you relate? This isn’t the heart that Jesus had, and it’s not the heart that God wants for us. Today, will you join me in praying that we will be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love, that in honor we will prefer one another, and that God will help us put aside our selfishness and serve others the way Jesus served us? If you want to start serving others this way, then check out these posts on ways to serve your family, your friends, at church, and in your community. Love, A
