Let’s make a few minutes this morning to dive into all of the richness in this verse. It opens with “wait on the Lord”. What does this mean? I think that it means that we should not be too quick to speak or too rash to make decisions. Understand how and where the Lord is leading you before you take matters into your own, human hands. I am very good at trying things my own way and making a mess of them - so pause. Breathe. Wait and feel what God is telling you before you make a single move. Then, “be of good courage.” Just because the Lord hasn’t answered, doesn’t mean that he hasn’t heard your prayer. Girl, he has heard. He knows. He understands. And he “shall strengthen thine heart”. He will give you the physical and emotional strength that you need to keep standing day after day. He will not allow you to become too weary or too afraid to keep going. He will strengthen your heart. The verse closes with a final “wait, I say, on the Lord.” You may have heard that God’s timing is truly perfect. He knows the exact right moment to show up in your life or answer your prayer - so have courage, and trust him to draw near while you wait for his response. With Love, A
